2009 Cancer events kicking off the 25th anniversary of Relay for Life Thousands of locals are set for the fight against cancer, as the American Cancer Society's 2009 Relay for Life events prepares to kick off. Among 50 relays planned for 13 northeastern Ohio counties is the Trumbull County Relay for Life, billed in past years as the largest fundraiser in the state of Ohio. The Niles Relay will be held May 1-2, Mayor Infante Wellness Center, Waddell Park, Niles and the Trumbull Relay will be held at Warren's Courthouse Square May 8 and 9. The event lasts 18 to 24 hours, with teams of 10 to 15 participants walking or running continuously. ``The strength of survivors inspires others to continue to fight. Also, it remembers loved ones who have died from the disease ... People get involved in Relay because they have been touched by cancer or know someone who was diagnosed with the disease. Everyone involved has a common reason for their involvement to find a cure.'' Shannon Ealy,
