Lakeview overcomes mistakes in win

By BRUCE McCLIMANS Special to Tribune Chronicle

GENEVA — The Lakeview Bulldogs played about as lethargic as one team can play against the Geneva Eagles in the first half Friday night at Memorial Field. They fumbled the ball five times in the half, but the Eagles didn’t take advantage of the Lakeview miscues, and in the end it all came back to haunt Geneva as it dropped a 30-14 decision to the Bulldogs.

Blue Devils run over Ridge

McDONALD — On Friday night, the powerful offense of the McDonald Blue Devils were the recipients of a couple bonuses. The first came before they even stepped on the field of play as senior Mikey Thomas returned the opening kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown. The second incentive was just as important as their defense surrendered just 78 total yards on 38 plays in a 25-0 victory over the Rams of Mineral Ridge.
